Make your laptop more ergonomic

Many of us are having to work with only our laptops and it’s causing many of us to experience neck pain, neck strains and worst case scenario arm pain. If all you have is your laptop I suggest you move from sitting to standing every hour and stretch during that move. You want to set a timer or listen to what your body is telling you and move, move, move. Some people describe the need to move as being fidgety or antsy. This is basically your bodies physical cue to move in posture.

When moving in posture you want to consider having a designated place where you can sit or stand. Have this designated area ready for you to quickly and easily make the move. You can use books or boxes to elevate the surface you are working on. It can be another area in the home that way you get more movement in between switches however if this is going to deter you from moving have the designated area next to your sitting area.

If you are lucky enough to have an external monitor, keyboard and mouse elevate your laptop to eye level. You can use a laptop riser, books or boxes. You can watch a quick video on how to do this below.
